A hysterosalpingogram is a test where x-ray of the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes as a dye passes through are done. This is an exam to determine fertility of the female reproductive organs. A dye (contrast) is introduced through the cervix, uterus, and into the fallopian tubes.
The appointment date is booked based upon the menstrual cycle of the patient. The appointment date must be scheduled within 10 days of the beginnings of the menstrual cycle. The first day of the menstrual cycle is included within the ten days.
Post procedure: After the procedure, the patient maybe given Baralgin.
N.B. Please check for signs of pain, fever, or bleeding. If present the patient is asked to return to the hospital.
